Free PODxt Patches & MP3s
"Below are some MP3 samples of the tones I have used with the PODxt. They were recorded direct to hardrive with Rifftracker via USB.
I used a standard '92 Japanese Squier Stratocaster with it's stock ceramic single coil pickups.
The main purpose of this page is to give you a good base starting point to create your own patches, but feel free
to use them "as is".
I have utilised the semi-parametric post EQ on the PODxt and "tamed" some of the treble response, but be careful of this for recording as
you could be surprised how bright you may need the guitars in the mix to cut through...it depends on the tone & positioning of the drums, bass guitar etc...
Live Advice: For live work I would cut the reverbs somewhat, as things could get messy and "flooded" on stage - especially through a guitar amp. (I personally don't like ANY reverb on stage.)
If you are using a regular guitar amplifier with your PODxt, try to avoid "Studio Mode" and cab simulations...this mode and the cab sims are absolutley ideal for
a full range system, like plugging into a keyboard amp, PA, or monitors...but not through a guitar speaker. If you think about it, it's not a logical idea to run a simulation of a guitar speaker through a guitar speaker...you will lose playing dynamics. But,
ultimately it's your choice."
Good Luck!
Kind Regards
Rob
